The board is made up of circles laid out in a sort of grid connected by lines for movement in what looks like an abstract fortress.At the beginning of the game the guardsmen occupy the two corners and center point of the first line within the fortress. Then troopers occupy all the other points outside of the fortress. To win, the troopers must occupy every every point within the fortress. The guardsmen win by preventing this.The game plays much like checkers with the guardsmen jumping over troopers to eliminate them.
